„die Seriale – DigitalSeriesFestival Giessen“ is the oldest festival in Germany dedicated to present and celebrate independent web and digital series. Our goal is to connect, support and pay tribute to all talented creators from around the world and to advertise their wonderful work. The 3th annual edition will take place between the 9th and 11th June 2017 and for the first time „die Seriale“ will be open for international submissions. On three festival days lectures, workshops and panel discussions will be held. All selected series will be screened in the local cinema. The most outstanding series will be awarded by an expert jury, money prize from our sponsor and VOD platform Netfall.

According to Los Angeles Magazine LAwebfest is “The Sundance of web series festivals”. It is the oldest, largest, most popular and influential web series festival in the world. Established in 2010 by Emmy-winning TV producer & 4-time NAACP Image Award-winning producer & playwright Michael Ajakwe Jr., LAWEBFEST was created to celebrate, showcase and reward amazing shows by talented (and often overlooked) independent producers. [Indie productions account for over 95% of all web series being made around the world.] Since the city of Los Angeles is the No. 1 producer of film, television and web series worldwide, LAWEBFEST provides a rich unique networking platform for online creative talents and technicians to share, learn, grow and become even better filmmakers. Since 2010 festival screened 1400 web series from 38 countries. Our web series is one of 118 web series in Official selection from 300 projects submitted this year and will be screened in luxurious cinema of Jimmy Stewart located in Sony Studios.

“Talking to Grandma” has 33rd place out of 270 awarded, nominated, selected web series around the world! Remember we applied only to chosen festivals so the outcome is pretty impressive! We would like to continue our adventure at the web fests in the coming year!

Ranking “Web Series World Cup” was founded 2015 roku by Joël Bassaget, who lives in Berlin where he writes scripts for television. Passionnate about new writing and independant production, he observes, analyses, criticizes and catalogues the web series from around the world. Journalist and consultant, he created the blog Web Series Mag on Liberation.fr and chronicles web fictions for french-speaking medias. “Web Series World Cup” ranks the best Web Series competing in the best Webfests around the world: Buenos Aires, Melbourne, Vancouver, Miami, Washington, Ustica, Berlin, Austin, Marseille, London, Bilbao, Seoul, Valencia, Montreal and Rio de Janeiro.

The ranking can still change after Rio Web Fest in December, where Ula Zawadzka is nominated for “Best Female Performance in Comedy”.
